The day begins with the “knocking” (kokooko)—a formal request for the bride’s hand. This is followed by the engagement ceremony (awareɛ), where gifts are exchanged, elders bless the union, and both families symbolically join together. Dressed in vibrant kente cloth, the couple is introduced and celebrated with drumming, dancing, and heartfelt speeches. Elders play a key role, offering guidance and officially uniting the families.

What a privilege it is to see the biggest snitch tie the knot in my favourite city!!! My talkative other half and my number one confidant even when she believes she knows what I’m feeling more than me?! From prank calling our aunties, uncles and grandmas and fighting over clothes to seeing her become a wife omg!! Here for the good vibes and the litness (and obviously seeing my one big sis getting married)!!! My job on this trip is to make sure Keziah stays away from ANY alcoholic beverages! Thank me later 💋

Alannah - 24

I’m Ibukun, Ope’s older brother. I’m a big DIY guy and the goalie you’ll have seen at every one of Ope’s birthday tournaments. Can’t wait to see you all in Ghana.

I first met Keziah at Warwick University, actually at her birthday party. We had mutual friends, I’d heard great things about her, and we even have birthdays close together — so I was genuinely confused about how we hadn’t met sooner. We’ve been friends ever since. I first met Ope at one of Keziah and Alexandra’s house parties and immediately understood why they were together. We’re all Warwick alumni, so it’s especially lovely to see one of our own getting married.

I’m a proud Ivorian girl who speaks French and Spanish. I love all things francophone music, food (especially cooking), reading (recently), and film 😊. I’ve been working in the international development and humanitarian field, but I’m officially done pretending I can save the world 😂.

Ivanne (aka Ivy) - 25

Keziah and I first met on the courts, trying out for Warwick Netball. My kindred spirit from the jump, we both didn’t like the vibe and ended up playing for Warwick ACS Netball instead. We ended up being picked as co captains for our team in second year of uni and the rest was HISTORY. I met Ope in second year, when he used to come and watch our games before his own football matches on Saturday mornings, the most consistent HAB (Husbands And Boyfriends) 🙂‍↕️. Looking forward to seeing this professional athlete couple tie the knot !!!!!!
I’m a girl who loves movies, watching movies, talking about movies. If you’re not catching me doing that then I’m probably baking or drawing. I’m a civil engineer by trade and that’s taken me all across the UK, and hopefully will keep doing so. #TauntonMassive iykyk.

Tolu - 25

I’ve known Ope since secondary school (2009) when he used to be considered the smartest guy in our year 😂, used to walk to school with him in the mornings & hang out with him on our breaks and after school. Ope was also affiliated with the OMN syndicate. I enjoy tech and cars and I’m also a biker. My passion for chasing 💸 has led me to reside in Dubai working as a project manager in construction (basically slavery) and starting up my import/export business out there. Looking forward to meeting to you all.

Pascal (aka Passy) -  27 

I first met Keziah and Ope at uni and actually witnessed the very beginning of their relationship (#thankyounsoc). From netball teammates to housemates and carpool karaoke co-stars, Keziah and I have been like sisters for years now and I’m so excited and honoured to witness this next chapter!! 

I’m a corporate lawyer with a massive sweet tooth who enjoys fitness, true crime podcasts and travel. 🏋🏾🕵🏾🛫

Alexandra - 25

I’m Jude, 30, and I’m a lawyer. I met Ope at Uni and we've been friends since. We mostly bonded through football and Music, but also share an interest in analytics. In terms of interest other than the above, I DJ occasionally (amapiano, Afrobeats, hiphop, rnb, UK, funky etc) , F1, Gym, coaching/community outreach. Recently ventured into developing mobile and web apps.

Jude - 30

Keziah and I have known each other for over half of our lives after meeting at secondary school, where we were the only two girls brave enough to take on Computing GCSE. I now work in quantitative finance, so I like to think Keziah accidentally set my life trajectory. Bonded forever as South Londoners, our friendship has been built on endless laughter and being there for each other through every version of life.

Shivani - 26

My name’s Cyrus, I’m 28. I’ve known Ope since secondary school - we’ve always been in the same friendship group, sharing jokes and a love for football. I’m a pharmacist by trade, and also started my own property management company this year. Right now, I’m big on personal growth, learning how to become a better business leader through mentorship and self-development. I enjoy staying active by playing football once a week and hitting the gym, and I’m also blessed to be a dad.

Keziah and I were the only blacks in the secondary school village, and have many hilarious and lovely memories together. If I was ever trying to figure out who was the real Keziah in a room full of imposters was, I would ask them to quote Mr McCaffrey squaring up to Ewan in year 9 French (iykyk)

Emmanuella - 26

I was Ope’s flatmate at uni for 2 years, became his mentor of sorts, some would say a father figure. I enjoy coding, non-fiction reading, basketball, and figuring out borderline legal methods of making money. I used to make music but my soundcloud rapper days ended shortly after work got serious. I’m also an anime/manga fan.

Bosire (aka Bos) - 28

Heyyy’all! My names Maddie, I’m 26 and from London. I’ve know Keziah since year 9 when we were in the same class and we have been besties since. I’m a lawyer and I live in Islington - never been to Ghana before but I’m super excited. I like gyming and reading a book in my spare time🫶🏻

I met Ope in the first year of uni. Over time we've shared football pitches, futsal courts and a couple of wacky Wednesdays 😂. I'm Hayaat, 26, will be 27 by the time of the wedding inshallahhhh. I know Keziah from being the only fly blacks in the alleyns/JAGs/ SCHS circle. Been my darg since early and her mum used to drop me home with her after motives in like year 9🤣 fun facts about me is I can predict most songs a dj is about to transition into #iloveoutside and I’m left handed idk

Hayaat - 26 

I’m Ola otherwise known as Xav10. I know Lansky from uni and we terrorised many teams as a midfield duo during our spell as manager and captain of FourOneNine FC (strictly football). We are also both supporters of one the most dominating teams right now. They say great minds think alike. I enjoy eating, vibes & all sports 🐎

I first met Keziah on one of our Taunton weekenders visiting Tolu. We hit it off straight away and matched each others personalities. Since then we've spent a few more UK getaways together so am looking forward to the wedding and making more memories together with her and Ope.
I love to travel and exploring new countries and am always planning my next trip. When I'm in London I spend my weekdays working in finance trading credit and my weekends letting out my creative side. Usually you'll find me at an art gallery, trying a new restaurant, working on my crocheting business or out with friends. 

Bella - 25 

I met at uni and lived somewhat above him so bonded by shouting to each other through the air vents rather than just messaging each other, solidified by our love for football, Drake and a good night out 🍻. I love eating copious amounts of food, preferably a sweet poundy and efo, love a good true crime documentary and watching F1 #LH44. Thoroughly bleed blue #UpTheChels💙

Chidi - 27

Hey, I’m Chiselle – Keziah’s cousin! My hair business “PeloAmouruk” is my passion, and you know what? Keziah supported me from the very beginning. She’s been coming to me for her hair ever since I started out – from practice styles to perfecting looks for special days – and we’ve filled those hours with endless chat and laughter. I honestly appreciate that she trusted me right from the start and has been such a constant cheerleader. So thrilled to be here celebrating her big day! 💕

Chiselle - 20 

Me and Ope went to the same sixth form, one of the few people to survive further Maths. I’m the current holder of the Lansky cup golden boot(waiting on my trophy). I enjoy sports especially basketball and not too much of a party person. I’ll try my best to translate at the wedding :)

I met Ope back in 2013 when I moved to the UK and we ended up in the same secondary school. We clicked straight away over our similar backgrounds, shared love for football, and a mutual passion for maths (nerds, I know😂). Been close friends ever since from school days to now being a guest to his wedding. I’m a bit of an ambivert, basically a chameleon 😂. I know how to have a good time outside, but I’m just as happy staying in, watching TV with my favourite food and snacks. I’ve also got a big passion for cars, which is why I work in vehicle sales.

I met Ope at Uni, alongside him and a few other good lads we went on to do the unthinkable, organise a group of Nigerians to maximise their potential & capture the collective imaginations of the entire university. Since then we’ve all moved on to bigger things and I now enjoy spending my time solving problems and maximising shareholder value, there’s nothing better.

I’m Ismaeel. I know Ope from 6th form - they used to call us twins because we both wore glasses and had high-tops 😂.  I’m a corporate cog by day and a nonalcoholic. In my free time I read novels, get into nerdy stuff (League of Legends included), and play sports exactly once a year at Ope’s annual football match. Looking forward to meeting you all 🙌🏾

I met Keziah on a night out in Uni through a mutual friend. Our first convo was a summary about my life up until that point and we’ve been chopping it up till this day, it’s all we do to be fair lmao. Kez would deffo be my twin sister in another life. 
I met Gaffer (Ope) when I was trying out for FourOneNine FC (The Nigerian Society Football Team) at Warwick Uni and we’ve been friends ever since. He probably doesn’t even know how easy he made my first year in Uni by signing me into the team lmao. But Gaffer is truly a great guy and of course he’s an OVO member, 6IX!!! I also appreciate that his taste for afrobeats goes deeper than the Top 100 chart. 
Couldn't be happier for Gaffer and Kez, the union makes so much sense if you actually think about it. See you guys in Accra!!!

The groom and I met in secondary school, for ages I referred to him as ‘itsovooao boy’ - if you see Drake, you see him🤣. I’m so blessed to have a friend such as Ope and we’ve seen each other through many life stages so far. Cannot wait for this newest chapter where he marries the (super) love of his life Keziah! 
I love being active by going to the gym and running, creating content (I’m a book blogger) and generally having a good time. Also, if there’s food - involve me. Big believer in life is for the living 🤪.

I met Ope back in 2016 at uni living in Bluebell and surviving the Stats department together. We spent way too many nights trying to pattern weekly assignments and submitting them literally minutes before the deadline.
Ope was always the calm one when it came to maths and stats while I was stressing but honestly he made the whole experience so much more fun.
It’s been great seeing him grow from uni BNOC to becoming a husband and I’m excited to celebrate and watch him step into this new chapter with Keziah.

I’m a software engineer from Kent who enjoys reading, karaoke and Nigerian food.
I met Ope at Warwick when he moved into one of the flats just below me. Our friendship went from a silent awkward ride in the lift to him becoming one of my closest friends at university!
